The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) today confirms that Chinese tennis player Pang Renlong has been suspended from the sport for a period of 12 years and fined $110,000 (of which $70,000 is suspended) after fixing, or attempting to fix, 22 matches between May and September 2024.
25-year-old Pang admitted to fixing five of their own singles matches at ITF World Tennis Tour M15, M25, and ATP Challenger 50 level, in addition to making 17 corrupt approaches to other professional players, resulting in six further matches being fixed.
Pang, who reached a career-high world singles ranking of 1316 in November 2024, accepted an agreed sanction with the ITIA and waived their right to a hearing before an independent Anti-Corruption Hearing Officer (AHO).
Time served under provisional suspension will be credited against the player’s period of ineligibility. Having been provisionally suspended since 7 November 2024, Pang’s suspension will end on 6 November 2036, subject to repayment of outstanding fines.
During the period of ineligibility, Pang is prohibited from playing in, coaching at, or attending any tennis event authorised or sanctioned by the members of the ITIA (ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Fédération Française de Tennis, Wimbledon and USTA) or any national association.
The ITIA is an independent body established by its tennis members to promote, encourage, enhance, and safeguard the integrity of their professional tennis events.
