The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has today confirmed that Chilean tennis player Bastián Malla has been banned for a further two months after failing to complete a treatment programme outlined in a sanction issued in 2022.

The player was originally banned for one month (reduced from three months) after testing positive for Cannabis, on the basis that an approved Substance of Abuse treatment programme was undertaken.

After failing to provide evidence that the programme had been completed, the player is now subject to an additional period of ineligibility, which will run from 19 December 2022 to 18 February 2023.

The ITIA is an independent body established by the International Governing Bodies of Tennis to promote, encourage, enhance and safeguard the integrity of professional tennis worldwide.
